The Port Washington Water Pollution Control District is fully committed to ensuring Sunset Park remains a place for the community to enjoy. A transfer to the Town has not been under active consideration since September 2023. However, we need to continue to think about the best way to ensure permanent protection of Sunset Park.
The PWWPCD’s ethics counsel has advised that Commissioner Kurz is ethically disqualified from discussions and decisions regarding Sunset Park, because he is financially benefiting from a contract with the PAL to run youth sports programs at the Park.
